Tito and Pedro's Story

Tito and Pedro were abandoned by their owners, they just packed up and left the country. These beautiful Golden Labradors were left in the garden. The neighbour called us and informed us about them. She told us that neither of them has ever seen a vet. This is Tito and he had lesions all over his body. We took them to the vet and they were both given a leishmaniosis and a heart worm blood test. Pedro’s test both came back negative, Tito’s heartworm test was negative but the Leishmaniosis test was positive. The vet then said Tito’s sight was not good, however, with the prescribed treatment this may improve in time and all his wounds were cleaned, he was given an anti-inflammatory injection, anti-biotic injection and cream for the sores all over his body. He also had a bad flea allergy which aggravated his sores. His nails had grown into his pads and that caused him a lot of pain when the vet removed them. We were quite surprised to hear he is only 4 years old.

A couple of days later we found both Pedro and Tito a new home with a lovely family in Quesada. With the care their new family gave them Tito started to feel much better, he was walking without pain, his wounds were not as inflamed and he even tried to play.

Sadly on the 4th January Tito passed away. It was discovered he had cancerous tumours on his kidneys and testicles. We were extremely sad when we got this news but thankful to the family that gave him the best few months of his life. Pedro missed Tito so much and a couple of weeks later we found him a new friend, Canela the labrador.

Scruffy was seen wandering between the beach and a local urbanisation for two days before he was rescued by a local holiday maker. The lady contacted us and we arranged to meet her at the vets to have him checked over. He was in good health and a very friendly little boy. I advertised him on the website and also on our facebook page, a few days later he was adopted by a lovely family and is living like a king.

A friend of ours found lily in terrible condition, we immediately went to collect her and take her to the vets, it was discovered she had terrible diarrhea and because she kept trying to clean herself she was re-infecting herself constantly. She had to wear a collar for a while until the diarrhea stopped and was given anti-biotics. She was also terribly underweight and only weighed 2.3 kilos. A week later everything cleared up and she was adopted.

This little girl was dumped in our garden with no thought regarding her safety. A car pulled up in front of our house and shoved her through one of the small gaps in our wall. When our dogs started barking I immediately went down to look and found her wandering around our garden. She took a while to coax to me but in the end she couldn’t resist and we took her to the vets to be checked over, she stayed there for a couple of days until we could find a home for her and thanks to advertising her on the Pets In Spain facebook page was adopted straight away.
