Our names are Cassie & Dixie we are 5 years old and brother & sister. I have been spayed, Dixie has not yet been neutered. We both have pet passports and all our vaccinations are up to date. We are very well trained, obedient, very loyal & we love all people. Due to ill health our owners have had to return to the UK & are heartbroken that we are not allowed to live in their new house. If you give us a home we promise to give you lots of love & laughter. Dixie cleans himself like a cat by licking his paw and wiping all around his face. Cassie talks to you with a funny high pitched voice.

This purebred Boxer was seen taking shade from the hot sun under a road bridge. After seeing him there for a few days a lady fed him and supplied him with water. She telephoned us and although we were full and had no space available we decided to rescue the dog. After numerous phone calls pleading for assistance a lady we know that has her own private dog rescue facility in her finca agreed to take him in. A thorough examination by our vet revealed that he has Leishmania and Heartworm disease. He is also ultra anaemic due to the millions of fleas that had infested his body. He has had a blood transfusion for this and we hope that he will survive the next course of highly traumatic treatment that he will undergo to eliminate the heartworms. If he survives this he will then receive treatment for the Leishmania. He is just 4 years old, we have named him Del Boy. Can you sponsor Del Boy to help us pay for the expensive treatment he needs; please call us on 676 447 682 or email k9club@lamarina.info

These four small dogs look terrified, and they are. They were thrown into a disused old reservoir in the middle of nowhere, with no means escape, no water and no food, just left to die in this sweltering basin. It was by pure chance that they were seen before it was too late. When we arrived they were so frightened they did their best to avoid rescue by hiding among all the dead brush and debris in the solid concrete pit. It took our volunteers hours to rescue all four of them. This is the first photo that one of our volunteers took of them shortly after they arrived at the vet clinic, in the pen huddled together for reassurance. The smallest one is a female and the other three are male. Can you help to foster one or two of them or perhaps you would like to become a sponsor to supply urgently needed funds that the K9 Club can use to provide all the treatment necessary to bring them back to good health. Please call 676 447 682 if you can help in any way.

These two small puppies are just 10 weeks old. One of our volunteers saw an English man putting them into a large green basura close to Santa Pola. She tackled him as he was dropping them in and he reacted violently and assaulted her. He also grabbed her phone and threw it away from her as she was trying to call the authorities. She rescued the puppies from the basura. They are sisters, small breed dogs that are very appealing and no worse for wear after their ordeal.

Three miniature black pigs had been seen over a period of three days in the Sierra del Molar pine forest. On the 4th day when two of them came over the road into the urbanisation a team of K9 Club volunteers reacted quickly to try to rescue them using a large net. Both the mother and her piglet were caught in the net but the piglet escaped and ran back into the pine forest. We will continue the search for the remaining two.

This Airedale Terrier was dumped from van in an urbanisation during a rain storm on Tuesday or Wednesday 15/16 June at approx 5pm. The small white van had written in English on the side ‘Home Nursing’ and also had different coloured logos or images on it. The man seen extricating the dog was aged 35 to 45 yrs and wearing dark trousers. He then rapidly drove away. If you have any suspicion as to who this may be please call 966 796 436

A lady that was putting her waste into a green basura heard a little noise from inside, she removed a plastic bag that was tied and sealed. These two kittens were inside the bag. She took the kittens and called us. They are just 5 weeks old and after a couple of days in the vet clinic they were declared in good health. They are now available for adoption.

They drove past yesterday and saw a small black thing run into a cardboard box next to a large metal bin by a roundabout on the road to Dolores.

Something told them to stop and look. They looked into the box and saw her.

Her right eye was closed, covered in thick dried wax, she was still and quiet. They picked her up and took her back to the urbanisation, to the house of a nearby neighbour that they knew worked in an animal rescue centre, she would not help them. They were told to contact us and we immediately agreed to meet them. We collected her and transported her to the emergency overnight vet hospital to get the treatment that she so urgently needed. She was very thin, she had an ulcer on her right eye and, at just 6 weeks old, she was covered in tics, with approx 30 tics inside each ear! She was prescribed the appropriate treatment for the tics and for her ulcerated eye. She is a Border Collie puppy and she is recovering from her ordeal in a foster home. We have named her Dolores.

Samson is a gentle giant. When we found him he had an infected wound just under his chin. It appears he had been attacked by another large dog up to 10 days previous and it had become badly infected. Despite the fact that he must have been in pain he was happy when found by the local police and he walked with them to the vet clinic. The surgery to the infected wound took two vets three hours. He is approx 7 years old. Samson is recovering and we need a foster for him or a permanent home. Please remember that if you foster one of our dogs we pay for everything.
